About Make Me A Game

The Concept

Simply put, we don't make games. Don't get us wrong...we love games. Individually we might make games. However, here at Make Me A Game©, we don't make games. You do. We create the opportunity for you to make games. Games about you. Games for you. Games for YOUR friends, family, community. Make Me A Game© creates what we call "Game Kits". Kits are simply templates, or skeletons of a game. A kit is not a game at all. You can't play a kit. Its up to you to use the kit to create a working game. Once you've made a game, you can put it on your blog, journal, and website. From there, your visitors can play the game, enter high scores, and even rate the game, without having to create an account. Its all about you.

Status

Its coming along. We're currently in a silent Beta phase, but thanks to a truckload of coffee and soda, its coming along quickly.

Origins

Having spent the last 10 years working for web development companies and saying "Hey, we have a great team here, we should be making sites for ourselves too" and getting strange looks fro CEO's, Kevin Phillips finally decided to quit making sites for other companies and to put one of his own ideas to the test. He shuffled through his list of crazy concepts and decided that Make Me A Game© would not only be fun, but would also give the most back to the web community that he had become so involved with. Having closely worked with many creative, talented people who simply lacked the mindset or knowledge to implement their own fun games, the idea of giving them this opportunity strongly appealled to him.
